Guest Day Rules

REGULATORY NOTICE. These rules are set by the Home Office and the Police. They must be followed without exception.

1. Who Can Bring a Guest

Only full members of Mayfair Shooting Centre may bring guests. Probationary members may not bring guests.

Who counts as a guest

Guests must be people the member knows personally — for example, a family member, a colleague or a friend.

2. On Arrival

Every guest must, on arrival:

  • Sign the guest register.
  • Sign a declaration stating that they are not prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968.

3. Firearms Guests May Use

During a guest day, guests may shoot:

  • The member’s own firearms, or
  • Club firearms.

Firearms guests must not handle

STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Guests must not shoot or handle long-barrelled revolvers (LBRs) or long-barrelled pistols (LBPs) under any circumstances.

4. Supervision

ONE-TO-ONE SUPERVISION. The member must supervise their guest on a one-to-one basis at all times when the guest is handling firearms or ammunition. The member is responsible for the guest’s safe conduct on the range.

5. Attendance Fee

The attendance fee for a guest is £5.

MEMBERSHIP REFUND. If the guest applies for membership of Mayfair Shooting Centre within 28 days of their visit, the £5 attendance fee is deducted from their subscription.
